How does Morgen connect to iCloud?
Through CalDAV, the standard calendar protocol Apple exposes for iCloud. You generate an app-specific password at appleid.apple.com (required by Apple for any non-Apple client) and paste it into Morgen along with your Apple ID. Morgen then reads and writes events directly against iCloud's servers.
Why an app-specific password instead of "Sign in with Apple"?
Apple requires app-specific passwords for any third-party client that uses iCloud data, including CalDAV clients like Morgen. It's actually more secure — the password only works for the app you generated it for and can be revoked individually.
Does this work on Windows and Android?
Yes — that's the main reason people use this integration. Morgen is one of very few ways to get a real native iCloud calendar experience on Windows and Android.
Are Family Sharing calendars supported?
Yes. Any shared iCloud calendar you can see in Apple Calendar shows up in Morgen the same way.
