Overview
This guide explains how Routines in Morgen work and when to use them. You’ll learn how routines differ from tasks, how to create repeating time blocks for habits and daily structure, and how to use them as reliable anchors in your calendar to reduce planning effort and protect important time.
What are Routines in Morgen?

Routines are time-blocked activities that happen regularly at a specific time, like breakfast, lunch, workouts, or evening shutdowns.
Unlike tasks, routines:
- Always have a time on the calendar
- Repeat on a schedule
- Do not appear in the task sidebar
Why Use Routines?
Routines can help you to:
- Protect time for non-negotiable activities
- Reduce planning overhead for repeating the daily structure
- Keep your task list focused on things that need decision-making
How to Create a Routine
- Click and drag on the calendar
- Select Routine
- Edit the start and end time if needed
- Choose a repeat rule (daily, weekly, custom)
- Optionally assign a color (see Color Guide)
- Save
The routine will now appear on your calendar for all future occurrences.
Completing Routines

- Routines can be checked off directly on the calendar
- Completing a routine does not archive it—the next occurrence remains
Morgen Tips
💡 Color Your Routines: Give routines a consistent color so they stand out from meetings and tasks.
💡 Use Routines as Anchors: Build your planning around routines like meals, workouts, and shutdown rituals.
