Using Morgen with Notion After Database Changes

What changed in Notion

As of September 2025, Notion introduced a new way of working with databases. A single database can now contain multiple data sources (e.g. Tasks and Projects in one place). This makes complex systems easier to build, but it also affects how integrations work.

Why this affects Morgen

Morgen’s Notion integration (like many others) is built on the previous Notion API, which only supports single-source databases. If you add more than one data source to a database, Morgen will not be able to see or sync with it until we upgrade to the new API.

What to do if your Morgen/Notion integration broke

If you’ve already added a second data source and Morgen stopped syncing, you can revert the change:

  1. Create a new database in Notion. This will contain a new “temporary” data source.
  2. Move your original data source into this new database, following this moving guide.
  3. Delete the temporary data source so the new database contains only the one you moved. Here are instructions on deleting data Sources.
  4. Update Morgen with the new database ID, simply by editing your integration preferences.

Once the database only contains a single data source, your Morgen integration should work again.

Best practice (for now)

To avoid disruption, keep using single-source databases in Notion until Morgen upgrades to the new API.
