Create and use Morgen Task Tags

Overview

This guide shows how to use task tags in Morgen to organize and plan your work. You’ll learn how to add, edit, and color tags, and how to use them to group, filter, and plan tasks by context, area, or energy, without adding extra lists or another layer of complexity.

Why Use Task Tags?

  • Group tasks across multiple lists
  • Filter and plan by context, area, or energy
  • Add structure without creating more task lists

How to Add Tags in Tasks

  • Open a task
  • Click the tag field
  • Select an existing tag or create a new one by typing
  • Add multiple tags if needed

How to Add Tags in the Command bar

  • Open the command bar ⌘ + K
  • Create a task and type #
  • Select an existing tag or type a new one
  • Add multiple tags if needed

Editing Tags

When clicking on a tag, you can:

  • Rename the tag
  • Change its color
  • Remove it from the task
  • Delete it entirely

Using Tags for Planning

You can:

  • Group tasks by tag
  • Sort tasks by tag
  • Filter task lists and planner frames by tag

Common tag examples:

  • Area: Admin, Work, Personal
  • Energy: High, Medium, Low
  • Type: Email, Call, Deep Work

💡 Keep Tags Lightweight: Use a small, meaningful set rather than dozens of tags.

💡 Combine with Frames: Filter planner frames by tag to plan the right kind of work at the right time.
