Overview
This guide explains how recurring due dates in Morgen work and when to use them instead of scheduled tasks or routines.
You’ll learn how to set repeating due dates, how they behave when tasks are completed (with or without subtasks), and how to combine them with Frames and the AI Planner to keep recurring responsibilities visible and automatically planned.
Why Use Recurring Due Dates?
- Keep repeating responsibilities visible
- Avoid cluttering your taskbar
- Ideal for recurring tasks that don’t require a fixed time, like weekly reviews or daily check-ins
- The task’s due date repeats, rather than locking it to a specific scheduled time
How to Set a Recurring Due Date

- Open a task
- Set a due date
- Click on the default “No repeat” in the Repeat due date section
- Choose a repeat rule (daily, weekly, custom)
- Save
When the task is marked as done, a new instance is automatically created with updated dates.
Works With Subtasks

- Recurring tasks can have subtasks
- Completing the parent task recreates subtasks for the next cycle
- Due dates and earliest start dates update automatically
Marking recurring tasks as done

- The recurring task with its subtasks gets automatically scheduled for the next cycle
AI Planner & Morgen Frames

The AI Planner is best used with Morgen Frames to schedule specific tasks in the selected time frame.
- Create a Frame by dragging your mouse on your calendar and choosing “Frame”
- Match the “repeat” matches with the recurrence of your recurrent task (repeat weekly, daily, etc.)
- Make sure your recurring task has a task tag or belongs to a specific task list
- In Frames, click on “Filtered Tasks” and choose the tag or task list your recurring task has
- Click or hover over the Frame and choose “Start AI Planner here”
- Finish by clicking on “Schedule all” in the AI Planner menu on the right
